Tuxedo FAQs
FAQ's
How far in advance do I need to order my tuxedo?
The sooner the better to ensure your style & size are available for the date needed. 30 days before the use date is ideal, especially wedding rentals. If you wait to order it the week of or the Saturday before then shipping charges will be added. All prom rentals require 2nd choices.
When do I have to pay for my tuxedo rental?
We require that you pay at least half down when ordering your tuxedo & the remaining balance may be paid when the tuxedo is picked up. If you would like to pay your balance in full & get measured 30 days before the event date then we offer a 10% discount (offer available for full tuxedo rentals only). Orders may be paid with credit, cash or check. Cash & check orders must still leave a credit card on file for damages.
How do I ensure the colors of the tuxedo & accessories are going to match?
We suggest bringing in a swatch of the color to match it to our sample book. Once an order is placed or received, change fees will apply for any changes made.
What sizes are the tuxedos available in?
We can fit most sizes, from a toddler 3T up to a mens size 70 coat! Vest styles are full back, except most boy's sizes, some 4X, & all 5X vest are backless. We recommend coming in to get measured to be sure of the correct fit.

When will my tuxedo be in for the event?
All tuxedo rentals arrive in store at least the day before your event date, sometimes earlier. We get shipments every morning throughout the week & we send text messages on each tuxedo received as soon as we unpack it.
How do I know that my tuxedo will fit properly? As soon as we let you know that your tuxedo has arrived, you need to come as soon as possible to try it on. The final fitting lets us make sure your tux fits properly, and is ready by the day of your event. You are responsible for trying your tuxedo in store for us, and letting us know if anything needs to be corrected. No corrections will be made if a tuxedo or suit that are not tried on by at least Friday at noon.
We have men in our wedding party that live out of town, what do I do?
If they are not able to come in our store to be measured then we recommend them go to their local tuxedo store to be measured. Please see the measuring chart here, for all measurements needed.
- When must the tuxedo be returned by? Your tuxedo rental is due back the Monday following the weekend of the event by 1:00 pm. We have a convenient drop off on the back porch of our store that you may drop it off anytime before then. A $10 late fee will be applied for each day that it is late. If any items are missing, you will be charged replacement cost.
What happens if I need to cancel my order?
A $20 cancellation fee applies if cancelled at least 14 days prior to event. Orders cancelled within 7-14 days of the event may receive a half refund of the total order cost. Orders cancelled within 7 days of the event, will not receive a refund.
- What is the difference in a tuxedo & a suit?
The primary physical difference between a tuxedo and a suit is the presence of satin. Traditionally tuxedos have satin facing on the lapels, buttons, pocket trim, and a satin side stripe down the leg of the trousers. Suits don’t incorporate any satin and usually have either plastic buttons or buttons faced with the same fabric as the coat (aka self buttons.) Some modern tuxedo options have minimized the use of satin to a thin satin trim on the lapels and a thin satin bead down the pant leg, but the primary difference between the two is that tuxedos have satin on them and suits don’t.
